Favorite Books for Chanukah

December 08, 2008

While I understand a bit about the Jewish holiday of Chanukah, I cannot claim to be an expert or to share any personal experiences. Luckily, I have friends. I polled folks asking them to tell me their favorite books to celebrate this famous Jewish holiday.

Hooray for Hanukkah! by Fran Manushkin with illustrations by Carol Croll.

The Borrowed Hanukkah Latkes by Linda Glassner with illustrations by Nancy Cote.

Runaway Dreidel by Leslea Newman with illustrations by Krysten Brooker.

My best friend is a secular Jew, but she knows how to play the dreidel game and hands out chocolate coins and lights candles each day of Chanukah. What are your favorite books of the holiday? I'm eager for more suggestions!
