Your guide to activities and fun things to do with your preschoolers, toddlers and kids in Philadelphia, PA

Because my daughter is only two and a half, she doesn't "get" most funny books yet. But she does deem certain books as "silly" and these make her do this hilarious almost fake laugh where she covers her mouth and shakes. These are the books that bring on the giggles in our house.

Goodnight Gorilla. This awesome book, nearly without words, cracks my daughter UP. You know the page, don't you? Well, it's the one that is all black and just big eyes in the dark. I open my eyes really wide when she get to that page and she just giggles and giggles.

The Cat In The Hat. I'm not sure I want to actually read this book to my daughter since it so strongly implies behaving badly when mom isn't home, but she loves the drawings so much and the absurd talking fish. Such fun to read with her.

Go Dog Go. I've only gotten to read this book with my daughter once at the library, but I made her laugh when I read it because the book is so incredibly absurd. I mean, the whole "Do you like my hat?" thing is just bizarre, frankly, the whole book is like some weird acid trip. So I guess it makes us both laugh.
